Scania delivers 66-tonne electric truck to Norway
We have written several times about Scania’s extra-long heavy-duty electric trucks. Now another such vehicle has been delivered, this time in Norway, to haul lime with its 66 tonnes total weight, sparing the atmosphere the combustion of almost 60,000 litres of diesel per year.

Egypt’s MCV launches electric bus for German market
The Egyptian manufacturer, Manufacturing Commercial Vehicles (MCV), is entering a continental European market. The OEM has developed a bus specifically for clients in Germany and has already founded a subsidiary, MCV Deutschland GmbH, for sales, after-sales and services.

Analysis: Electric trucks dominate market by 2035
A new report by Price Waterhouse Coopers Strategy (PwC) attests to a bright future for zero-emission trucks. BEVs are forecasted to outperform internal combustion engine technology within the decade. Worldwide, PwC analysts expect zero-emission models to essentially replace conventional trucks within the next 15 years – given that infrastructure is catching up.

Daimler Truck debuts eActros LongHaul prototype at IAA
Daimler Truck has brought a concept prototype of the eActros LongHaul to IAA Transportation and revealed further technical details surrounding the battery-electric long-haul truck. The 40-t truck will drive with up to 600 kWh battery capacity and 600 kW peak power.

Van Hool reveals double decker travel coach
Long-distance buses with battery-electric drives are still a rare species but the Belgian commercial vehicle manufacturer Van Hool pushed zero-emission evolution forward with a double-decker coach with purely electric drive. The TDX25E is supposed to have a range of up to 500 kilometres and has been created for the North American market.
