Global demand for batteries could grow 30 per cent annually from 700 GWh today to 4,700 GWh in 2030, according to a new analysis by McKinsey and the Global Battery Alliance. At 4,300 GWh, batteries for mobility applications will account for the largest share of demand, according to the forecast.
