Qualcomm is at the forefront of inductive charging and by now has licensed more than a dozen Tier 1 suppliers, the latest being Nichicon in Japan. In Europe, Qualcomm together with Renault demonstrated dynamic wireless charging at 20 kW.

Davison believes that charging while driving may be another ten years away, but that static solutions will become a standard option within 2 – 3 years.
