Fortum’s Mike Warner sees “huge potential” in wireless charging

HPC is coming indeed but speed is only one part of the challenge to charge electric cars in future, knows Michael Warner of Fortum Charge & Drive. He oversees the SaaS unit at the Finnish utility. Also a Member of the Board, he gave electrive.com an overview of Fortum’s network and technological strategy, in which wireless charging has already begun to play a role and shows “huge potential,” according to Warner.

Fortum has just started the first trial for charging electric taxis while they wait in Oslo and also opened the high power charging corridor connecting the Nordic capitals reportedly. Most recently, Fortum announced its entry into the recycling market in cooperation with Crisolteq of Finland.

Mike Warner spoke with electrive.com at the rEVolution conference in Amsterdam this March.
