Mind the gap.

Because three-phase outlets are common in Europe, a lot of EV drivers are taking their EVSEs on the road. To prevent the expensive equipment from being stolen, owners came up with a solution you might have seen before. But this time the leash belongs to the car, not to a pet!

Marsupial e-bike.

The Spanish company Oto Cycles makes e-bikes that take a fair share of retro from strange worlds. One model features a battery looking like a tank from a 50s motorcycle while still being dubbed ‘lightweight’. Others come with classic diamond frames but carry a battery in a sack. We suggest calling that model Kangaroo.

XXL delivery.

What was supposed to be a slowly unveiling PR coup has spun quicker than expected. As promised, last weekend Amazon delivered three massive boxes to their customers. Obviously, this would not go unseen and soon internet users guessed their content: a Nissan Versa Note. No need for a revealing video anymore, but why not use a super-drone next time to create a real big buzz?!

The best of two worlds.

Ever thought about using the airstream of a car for powering a wind turbine?! The Transport Turbine can be strapped to the roof of a car to generate energy while driving which then can be used to power the car‘s electronics. Not the car itself, mind you!

Better late than never.

The newly elected mayor of New York, Bill de Blasio, wants to outlaw the horse-drawn carriages around Central Park. Because they are “not human and not appropriate for the year 2014”, he wants to replace them with electric cars in the design of 1910s’ touring cars.

Extra topping for roads.

The state of Wisconsin, also known as America‘s Dairyland, has yet found another use for its cheese. Left-over brine is now utilised to de-ice the streets in winter. Apparently, the salty brine of Mozzarella spiced with a bit of traditional rock salt has proven most efficient so far. Based on the motto: One for your pizza and one for the road.

Serving it piping-hot.

Some things defy an explanation and many of those can be found on YouTube. We might never learn why this guy decided to burnout his bike in (hopefully) his own kitchen, but one thing is certain: this would have never happened with an electric motorbike.
