In Europe, Mars Logistics has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Trailer Dynamics to reserve and deploy 500 eTrailers for fully zero-emission routes from Turkey to Germany. The use of eTrailers enables intermodal transport between trains and trucks on a route that spans over 2,500 kilometres.

In Germany, DB Schenker has signed a cooperation agreement with Trailer Dynamics. The logistics service provider will gradually roll out 2,000 eTrailers on different tractors in its European network from 2024 onwards. The trailers can be equipped with batteries of 300 kWh, 450 kWh or 600 kWh, depending on requirements.

Chinese battery manufacturer CATL has signed agreements with Swiss electric vehicle manufacturer Kyburz and German company Trailer Dynamics at the IAA Transportation. Announcements on further deals are to follow shortly.

CATL and Trailer Dynamics have signed a battery supply contract for a new way of electrifying long-haul trucks. Under the agreement, CATL will design, manufacture and supply batteries for the Newton eTrailer that will be launched in 2023.
