Volvo takes select PHEVs off the UK market

Volvo has taken several plug-in hybrid variants of some of its most popular models off the market in the UK as part of a major cull. The Swedish brand announced that it will affect PHEV variants of its XC40 SUV, as well as the S90 saloon and Cross Country-badged estates in the UK.

Volvo is updating the drive systems of the XC40 and C40

Volvo has extensively revised the drive systems of its electric models XC40 and C40. In the all-wheel drive models, an asynchronous motor replaces the previously used permanent synchronous motor on the front axle. The new motor layout of the all-wheel-drive models also has consequences for the single-motor models.

Volvo presents updated XC40

Volvo Cars has given its XC40 Recharge electric SUV a facelift. Among other things, a new front bumper and a frameless radiator grille ensure that XC40 Recharge is visually aligned with the Volvo C40 Recharge. In addition, the C40 Recharge gets a new engine.

Volvo confirms small electric car on Lynk& Co. platform

According to CEO Håkan Samuelsson, Volvo will also use the new SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture) EV platform recently presented by the fellow Geely brand Lynk & Co. The incoming compact model below the XC40 will be the first Volvo based on this platform.
