Volvo takes select PHEVs off the UK market

Volvo has taken several plug-in hybrid variants of some of its most popular models off the market in the UK as part of a major cull. The Swedish brand announced that it will affect PHEV variants of its XC40 SUV, as well as the S90 saloon and Cross Country-badged estates in the UK.

Wales increases funding for EV charging stations

The Welsh Government will invest £15m to increase the number of EV charging points across Wales ahead of fossil fuel vehicles being phased out in 2030. The funding, confirmed today by Deputy Climate Change Minister Lee Waters, builds on earlier advances of the UK country.

Apcoa launches 500 EV charge points at car parks in the UK

Parking provider Apcoa says it opened its first Urban Mobility Hub in the UK. The charging hub offers five AC chargers (22 kW) and twelve Tesla Superchargers of the latest generation. The opening is part of Apcoa pushing 500 EV charging points across the UK.

RAW charging coming to National Trust sites across UK

British infrastructure provider RAW Charging has made a deal with the National Trust to install EV charging at heritage sites in England, Wales and Northern Ireland over the next three years. Once complete, RAW expects the rollout to be one of its most significant and worth £12 million.

Swarco announces plans for new HPC network in the UK

UK charging infrastructure provider Swarco Smart Charging announces the roll-out of an HPC charging network across England, Scotland and Wales. Renault Retail Group replaces courtesy cars with EVs

The Renault Retail Group is switching all its courtesy cars to the Renault Zoe. The move affects 143 vehicles spread across the 15 official Renault and Dacia dealerships in England and Wales the Group comprises. The new EVs join 21 Zoe E-Tech that already exist on the 164-strong courtesy car fleet.

Newport orders 16 more Yutong electric buses

The Welsh port city of Newport is increasing its electric bus fleet from 16 to 32 vehicles. The operator Newport Transport has ordered 16 more electric buses from the Chinese manufacturer Yutong, which are to be delivered by the end of this year. The 16 existing electric buses are also from Yutong.
