EMT Madrid prepares to launch first high-speed bus line

In the Spanish capital, the public transport operator EMT Madrid has launched the first high-speed electric bus line. The line connects the districts of Valdebebas and Sanchinarro with the Ramón y Cajal Hospital over 31 kilometres and will be served by ten electric buses from Irizar from May.

Go-Ahead orders 20 Irizar ie tram electric buses for London

The London transport company Go-Ahead has ordered 20 electric buses and charging infrastructure from the Spanish manufacturer Irizar. The order includes 20 examples of the Irizar ie tram 12-metre electric bus with right-hand drive, as well as two 450 kW pantograph chargers and 100 kW depot chargers.

Irizar ie tram buses en route to Northern Spain

The Spanish bus manufacturer Irizar has received an order for 30 electric buses from Valladolid, Spain. In addition to the 30 Irizar ie trams, the public transport operator AUVASA (Autobuses Urbanos de Valladolid) also ordered corresponding charging infrastructure.

Irizar receives largest e-bus order from Spain to date

The Spanish city of Zaragoza has ordered 68 electric buses from Irizar, including 51 solo and 17 articulated buses. Irizar says it is the largest e-bus order to date. Public transport operator Avanza will put the e-buses into operation from late 2022.

Swiss town moves ahead with full fleet electrification

VBSH, the public transport authority of the Swiss town of Schaffhausen has ordered the remaining 13 electric buses in an existing order with Spain’s Irizar following successful testing. They expect delivery to start next summer as VBSH aims to convert the entire city bus fleet to electric by 2028.

Electric bendy buses arrive in Barcelona

You could call these electric buses a “streetcar of desire” given they look pretty, are articulated, 18 metres long and look like a tram. The four buses made by Irizar have arrived in Barcelona and will serve on route H16 starting this month.
