eCitaro fuel cell buses to grace hilly Italian roads
The Mercedes-Benz eCitaro hydrogen fuel cell electric bus will be used in northern Italy from the end of this year. The public transport operator SASA has ordered nine examples of the 18-metre-long articulated version of the electric bus with a fuel cell range extender.

Seoul places massive FC bus order with Hyundai
South Korea’s capital Seoul wants to replace a total of 1,300 existing buses with new fuel-cell buses from Hyundai by 2026. This was agreed upon by Hyundai Motor, the Seoul city government, the South Korean Ministry of the Environment and the companies SK E&S and Tmap Mobility.

Daimler officially presents the Mercedes eCitaro fuel cell
Daimler Buses presented its first serial electric bus with a fuel cell as a range extender at the presentation of the eCitaro fuel cell at the Global Public Transport Summit. The start of the series production of the eCitaro fuel cell coincides with the trade fair premiere.

Bosch takes over fuel cell production for PowerCell
Bosch is taking over the production of the S3 fuel cell stack for PowerCell. Under the new agreement, Bosch will integrate the S3 into its own production facilities in Germany and deliver finished 100 kW stacks to PowerCell’s plant in Gothenburg.

Gothenburg: Renova orders H2 truck fleet from H2X
Australian developer H2X will deliver a fleet of H2 trucks to Swedish waste and recycling company Renova for use in Gothenburg. The order is worth up to 240 million Swedish kronor (about €20.6 million), according to H2X.

First Mode builds FC dump truck drives with ABB batteries
US-based First Mode has contracted ABB to supply 80 battery systems with a total capacity of 2.6 MWh for a fleet of zero-emission dump trucks for mining operations. The Bordline ESS lithium-ion systems will be used in converted dump trucks with combined fuel cell-battery propulsion.

ZeroAvia works on world’s largest zero-emission aircraft
ZeroAvia has started developing the world’s largest zero-emission aircraft based on a decommissioned ‘Dash 8’ jet Alaska Airlines reserved for conversion. Should the hydrogen plane take off, it would be about five times more powerful than anything out there so far, the companies say.

Quantron signs Westgass Hydrogen as next H2 supplier in the Nordics
Quantron and Westgass Hydrogen have signed a strategic cooperation agreement to run and fuel hydrogen trucks across the Nordic countries. The two companies will combine their offerings with Quantron deploying fuel cell electric vehicles and Westgass Hydrogen supplying the fuel.

Solaris secures record order from Germany
Solaris has announced a record order for hydrogen buses from the German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern: The transport company Rebus Regionalbus Rostock has ordered 52 fuel cell buses from the Polish manufacturer, including 47 vehicles with a length of twelve metres and five articulated buses.
